Traveling Far From Home
High fuel prices aren't keeping Americans from traveling this summer, with many going distances that are far from home. Sixty percent plan to spend most of their summer vacation at destinations that are located more than a six-hour drive from home, while roughly half of those in the Northeast are sticking closer to home.

Long vs. Short Trips
Hectic jobs and long work weeks have Americans longing for their vacation breaks. So rather than take multiple short trips, such as long weekends, 53 percent are planning for trips that are one week or longer. People in the South especially live for their long vacation and intend to savor every minute compared to other regions.
