10 Fun TV & Movie Locations in Los Angeles
By CARLY MILNE
Millions of people travel to the Los Angeles every year to partake in the usual tourist traps: taking pictures with the hand and footprints at Mann’s Chinese Theatre, making an attempt to get as close to the Hollywood sign as possible, and visiting the teeny roller coaster at the end of the Santa Monica pier (preferably after eating at Bubba Gump’s.) But if you’re in the mood for more of a Hollywood-style treasure hunt that satisfies the pop culture obsessive in you, get your GPS ready and make sure you have enough juice in your digital camera to take pictures of some of the real-life locations you see in your favorite TV shows and movies.
The Scrubs Hospital
Sacred Heart, 12629 Riverside Drive, North Hollywood
Though it’s been closed for four years, people still mistakenly attempt to get medical treatment while the show is shooting. While you won’t get to go inside, the outside is recognizable enough, and will satisfy the curiosities of even the most obsessed Zach Braff fan.
The Brady Bunch House
11222 Dilling Street, North Hollywood
The “ow, my nose!” episode has a special place in everyone’s heart, and now you can see where it all went down. And if you’re still thirsting for a tourist trappy-type thing, Universal Studios is only a hop, skip and a jump away.
The High School from 90210
Torrance High School, 2200 W. Carson Street, Torrance
Finally – a property you can actually take pictures on without annoying residents or being arrested! Not only did Brandon, Brenda and the gang call this their home for three years of high school, but so did the gang from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Two angsty teen shows plus one high school equals better bang for your pop culture buck!

The Melrose Place Apartment Building
4616 Greenwood Place, Los Feliz
Ahh, the site of so many hook-ups, so many cat fights (some of which that ended in the pool), and so many overly dramatic, Spelling-esque memories. Another dual-show note – this was also the site of Giles’ apartment in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Once again – two great shows, one great location.
The Funeral Home from Six Feet Under
Wilton, South of Wlishire, Los Angeles
The address may look like too general of a description, but trust us – you can’t miss the spot that doubles as the funeral home for Six Feet Under. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, the house they lived in is on Arlington below the 10 freeway.
The Happy Days House
565 North Cahuenga, Hancock Park/Wilshire District, Los Angeles
Just south of Melrose a few blocks from the Paramount lot sits the Cunningham house. Make sure you wear your leather jacket and utter a “heyyyyyyy” when you visit, just to make it authentic.
The Gone With The Wind House’s Terrace
Kenneth Road between Brand and Pacific, Glendale
It sounds strange to suggest that you’re only going to see part of this famous house, but it’s true. The iconic terrace sticks out like a sore thumb, and will prompt your best Scarlet impression, guaranteed.
The Carnival Site in Grease
John Marshall High, 3939 Tracy Street, Los Angeles
It’s the grand finale of one of the greatest love stories ever told… even if the heroine had to tramp it up a little to get her Romeo. Not only was this where Sandy seduced Danny in the shake shack, but it was also the site of the school Kevin went to in Wonder Years.
The School From Clueless
Occidental College, 1600 Campus Road, Los Angeles
Will you be able to resist yelling, “As if!” when you visit? Probably not. And as a bonus, this was also the site of 90210: the college years.
The Bat Cave
Bronson Caves, 2798 Canyon Drive, Los Angeles
Last but not least, the icing on the cake – the bat caves. And this isn’t any newfangled Christian Bale Batman, or even the Michael Keaton version… we’re talking old-school, 60s, Adam West in blue leotard. If that’s not iconic enough for you, the famed “Hollywood” sign is spitting distance from the caves. (You’ve got to make time for at least one tourist trap, right? Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a real trip to L.A!)
